Wesley's Early Childhood Education Center is currently under renovation to create a Science, Technology,  Engineer, Arts, and Math (STEAM), invigorating learning environment. This center will open Fall 2025.

Wesley Community Center’s Early Learning
Center / STEAM Program

The childcare building is being renovated to create a new, invigorating, vibrant, learning environment for children ages 2 and 3 years of age. The redesigned space will incorporate the Science, Technology, Engineer, Art, and Math (STEAM) concept. The newly designed center will open in 2025.

Nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and recognized as Georgia Quality Rated Centers.

The Lady Bamford Center for Early Childhood Development

The Lady Bamford Center supports up to 83 children, from 6 weeks to 4 years old, serving homeless and low-income families in West Savannah.

  • Full-day, subsidized childcare with free services for homeless children

  • Nutritious meals: breakfast, lunch, and snacks

  • Healthy Living Initiatives

  • Hands-on, creative learning through the Creative Curriculum, including art, gardening, field trips, and more

  • Priority family support services

Transition to Kindergarten
This is a special camp segment for children who are preparing to enter Kindergarten. Camp takes place at The Lady Bamford Early Childhood Education Center and focuses on the skills needed for Kindergarten using a fun, hands-on approach to learning.

J.R. Paddison Family Life Center/ Crisis Intervention Center

The J.R. Paddision Family Life Center is a hub for crisis intervention, dedicated to uplifting individuals and families in the Savannah community. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the center offers a welcoming space to access services, connect with others, and work toward personal and family growth.

Key services include providing emergency food, utility and rental assistance, financial literacy education, SNAP assistance, and case management. Call (912) 447-5711 to schedule an appointment for Crisis Intervention.

Additional offerings include adult education programs, a food pantry and computer tutoring. Whether you're seeking guidance, practical resources, or a sense of community, the Family Life Center is here to help. Together, we build stronger, brighter futures.

Emergency Food Assistance

Wesley Community Centers host an Emergency Food Assistance event on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This vital program provides nourishing food to individuals and families in need, fostering a stronger, more compassionate community. No one should face hunger alone—let us help bridge the gap.

Summer Program: Youth Arts Camp

Wesley’s Summer Youth Arts Camp is a full-day program for children ages 5-9 that focuses on self-acceptance and the acceptance of others. Themes revolve around different cultures and include cultural cooking, art activities, field trips and guest speakers with a focus on literacy. The Wesley campers write and produce an end-of-camp play that celebrates diversity and depicts the different cultures they studied. This is a treat for parents, guardians, community members, and sponsors alike!

Career Development

New and expanded component to include a select group of older campers (ages 10-12). This age group focuses on hands-on exploration of Career Development including field trips, guest speakers, and creating a small business (i.e., product development and creation, research, developing a business plan, and marketing).
